POBO holds the community together.

In 2025, POBO Community Spot was a vibrant, safe, and welcoming space for people with lived experience of migration and refuge — and for Wrocław’s local communities.

At least 1,150 people used POBO
248 gatherings took place: workshops, support groups, community meet-ups, educational sessions, and self-organised initiatives
That’s an average of five meetings every week, all year long.

Hundreds of hours of conversations, learning, relationship-building, and strengthening people’s sense of agency.

POBO is not an “events project.”

It is part of the city’s social infrastructure — growing in importance day by day, because it fills systemic gaps and responds to real needs. It’s a place where people in crisis are not left alone.
It’s also where migration becomes deeply local: tangible, grounded in neighbourhood life, everyday reality, and community.

And it’s in conditions like these that “from-the-ground-up” initiatives emerge: support networks, solidarity actions, self-organisation — built on respect and unconditional support.
Behind each of those 248 gatherings there is teamwork: coordination, care, language accessibility, safety, and crisis response.
And behind each of those 1,150 people there is a personal story.

👉 That’s why we’re asking you to support POBO.

Your donation helps cover:
— rent and the upkeep of a safe space,
— the ongoing presence of a team ensuring accessibility and safety,
— keeping POBO a living meeting place — not just a memory of a “good project.”

The operation and development of POBO Community Spot in the second half of 2025 and at the turn of 2025/2026 (1 July 2025–15 January 2026) were made possible thanks to a grant from the Stefan Batory Foundation Fundacja Batorego. Under this grant, we financed, among other things: key strategic roles at Nomada (fundraising & donor relations, and communications & advocacy), POBO’s rent, basic operational costs, fundraising and advocacy travel, communications support (design/technical services), and digital tools used for communications, advocacy, and fundraising.
